Valentin, how did you prepare for the Euroskills?
To be selected for the 2023 French careers team, I first passed the regional and then national selections. I was then followed by my professional expert who was in charge of my technical training, for 8 months as follows:
- 1 hour of training per day on the Mastercam CAD/CAM software
- To participate in 3 weeks of technical training with my expert
- Participation in 3 other weeks of French team regrouping where we worked on lifestyle & health, physical fitness and especially mental (mainly on motivation and emotion management) in preparation for the competition.
Valentine, cow did the Euroskills take place?
The Euroskills took place over a week.
Monday, the French team met in Paris to go by plane towards Gdansk, Poland.
On Tuesday during the day, we were able to take charge of the tools available. This day was important because it was about preparing the tools and my software to experience the competition peacefully.
Finally the competition started on Wednesday and lasted 3 full days.
I participated in 3 events where the goal was to produce parts starting from a plan and a block of raw material in a very tight time.
The tests were different: work either aluminum or steel, on a 3-axis or 5-axis machine, individually or in series.
The goal is to define the best milling machine in Europe by taking into account all types of possible requests in industry.
Valentine, cHow do you feel after this victory? Would you like to thank people who followed you on this incredible adventure?
I feel good. I spent a crazy week with the French team full of joy, stress, pressure and tears.
I made a few mistakes but that doesn't stop me from to get on second place on the podium and that makes me terribly proud of what I was able to accomplish.
So obviously I want to thank a lot of people but I will start with my expert, Agnès Reinhard, who followed and supported me in this competition.
A big thank you to the entire Worldskills France team who supported us and did everything to allow us to go through a competition without any problems. Thanks to the professional team who were also present during my training with my expert.
Thanks also to CALIP Normandie who allowed me to carry out this competition and who supported me a lot throughout the preparation and competition.
Thanks to Baptiste Dozolme and the entire Bac Pro Usinage team at Paul Cornu high school who encouraged and pushed me to complete this competition since the regional selections.
thanks to Djordan Viardot and Lupine Doucet who taught me a lot during my preparation.
And thank you to my family because they have always been there to encourage me, in France as in Poland.
Valentine, what's next?
For now, I'm recovering from my emotions following this competition.
It is possible that I will be selected for the Worldskills which will take place in Lyon, France, in September 2024.
