🎓CALIP GROUP welcomes young talents in apprenticeships every year within its various departments: purchasing, quality, design office, accounting, machining, maintenance, etc.

Today we offer you the portrait of Clovis Lurthy, who completed a two-year work-study program on the Moult site before being hired as operator-adjuster on the CALIP Normandie website, six months ago.

Clovis, can you tell us about your journey?

" I'm 20 years old. Concerning my school career, I did not want to pursue a general course so at the end of third year, I decided to do a TU professional baccalaureate (Machining Technician), in Rambouillet.

In first grade, I had to complete an 8-week internship. And I joined CALIP Normandie but I only completed 3 weeks of internship because Covid stopped everything. The following year, I returned to CALIP Normandie for 8 weeks, in my final year.

At the end of my Bac Pro, I joined a BTS CPRP (Design, Process & Production of Industrial Products), on a work-study basis, in Versailles. CALIP welcomed me as an apprentice.

I am fortunate to have two apprenticeship masters, which allowed me to develop varied skills in mechanics and profile machining. This gives versatility to my position.

I was hired at the end of my BTS, six months ago. Today I am an operator-adjuster.”

What does your job involve?

“My role is to prepare the machines and make the necessary adjustments to produce a series of parts.

To do this, I learned to read mechanical technical plans and diagrams.

I carry out the first quality checks of the production.

I ensure that production is carried out in compliance with objectives and safety rules.

I can also carry out machining operations.

I ensure first-level upkeep and maintenance of the production tool.”

Would you like to add something?

“I am very happy to have been hired after my work-study program. People have always trusted me. The adjusters were always there to answer my questions and support me in learning. There is good understanding in the team. »

Thank you Clovis for your enthusiasm and for agreeing to talk about your journey.

We hope that Clovis' experience will inspire other young talents to choose this profession and discover the exciting world of the mechanical industry.
