Valentin is selected for the Worldskills France and Europe competition!

Valentin Beuzelin, work-study at CALIP Normandie (since September 2022) qualified for national and European Worldskills.
Let's take this opportunity to ask him a few questions about his career.

Valentin, can you tell us about your professional background?

I started in bac pro machining after a 3rd year internship where I knew nothing about the industry and where I flashed on milling profession.

During my professional baccalaureate, I had the opportunity to meet Lupin Doucet (4e at the Worlds in Abu Dhabi) and Djordan Viardot (6e European in Graz) who informed me of their Worldskills experience which motivated me to start competing.

At the same time, I obtained my professional baccalaureate and I embarked on a BTS CPRP (product production process design) on a work-study program at the UIMM of Evreux.

After these two years of competition and studies, I wanted to get into the world of work, so I looked into Calip Normandie because I had met Samuel Guerin previously who asked me to join the company.

He suggested that I continue my work-study studies at CALIP Normandie with a license, so II went back to the UIMM of Evreux to integrate a pro CAPPI license (Design and improvement of industrial processes and processes) on a work-study basis.

Valentin, what are Worldskills?

The Worldskills is a competition to promote trades from all sectors through young people to the best of their abilities. It's like a big showcase where you meet young people in training from all over France, Europe or even the whole world (depending on the level of the competition). They give their best in a trade competition.

Valentin, what interests you in this competition?

In this competition, what interests me the most is the human side of competition.

Go to the national competition with the Normandy team, meet other competitors from completely different worlds. Getting together from time to time without knowing each other too much but being already welded as if we had known each other for a long time.

During the medal ceremonies, we are all crying with joy for each winner or crying with sadness for each loser. In my eyes, this is the most important spirit of cohesion in this competition.

Of course, we also meet a lot with this competition, whether it's other competitors from all over France or influential people in your sector of activity. And finally, the fact of giving the best of yourself during a whole week of competition to then be able to receive the medal always causes incredible sensations!
